HOMEROOM TEACHERMAIN RESPONSIBILITIES This position requires love, patience and respect for children. The teacher will encourage the children to be independent and be a model for them in terms of appropriate manners and behaviours. The teacher will also teach and guide the children in activities designed to promote social, physical and intellectual growth following the Montessori method by performing the following duties: Adhere to company safety policies and procedures. Reporting to the Head Teacher / School Principal. Equipped with knowledge of Montessori terminology and method for Nursery classes. Equipped with knowledge of Thematic Approached terminology and method for Kindergarten / Preschool classes. Providing the children with a “prepared environment”. Keep the classroom clean and inviting. Work together in providing the best environment possible within the philosophy of the School. Focus in the delivery of effective learning experiences with lesson plans. Provide guidance in individual/group activities to stimulate the growth of children in social, emotional and academic areas. Be responsible for the welfare of the children into class life as appropriate. Assist the children to move around, complete work cycles, choosing work & returning work when the child completes. Serve snack and lunch while helping children to learn how to help themselves. Encourage individual work time to promote independence as well as group work to promote socialization. Supervise activities as directed by the Head Teacher / Principal. Teach small group lessons. Share supervision of children in the school during break periods. Uses personal expertise to enhance children’s learning experiences. Be prepared with progress report for Parent-Teacher Consulations/Conference. Participate in all open houses and school programs such as open day, school events etc. To advise as appropriate in the compilation of reports by the teacher. Secretarial duties (including filing and photocopying). Establish and maintain cooperative working relationship with children, parents and co-workers. Requirements: Candidates with at least Diploma in Early Childhood Education and above will have an added advantage. At least 2 years of relevant professional teaching experience, preferably in a childcare / kindergarten / preschool environment. Willingness to acquire knowledge of inquiry based learning is required. Applicants must be fluent English speakers. ASSISTANT TEACHERMAIN RESPONSIBILITIES This position requires love, patience and respect for children. The Assistant Teacher is to ensure the welfare and wellbeing of children and assist the teacher to provide a high standard of education to the children of the school by performing the following duties: Adhere to company safety policies and procedures. Reporting to the Homeroom Teacher / Head Teacher. Become knowledgeable with Montessori and Thematic Approached terminology and methods. Assist the Homeroom Teacher with providing the children with a “prepared environment”. Keep the classroom clean and inviting. Support the Homeroom Teacher in all aspects of class as directed. Teach small group lessons. Assist with individual and/or group activities to stimulate growth of the children in social, emotional and academic areas. Assist in providing the best environment possible within the philosophy of the School. Assist in the delivery of effective learning experiences with lesson plans. Assist the children by moving around: Complete different work cycles. Choosing work. Returning work when the child completes his task. Serve snack and lunch while helping children to learn how to help themselves. Allow children to be as independent as possible. Assist in the mounting of displays (including children’s work) as per school policy. Encourage individual work time to promote independence as well as group work to promote socialization. Be present at parent/teacher conference. Participate in all open houses and school programs. Establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with children, parents and co-workers. Requirements: Candidates with at least Diploma in Early Childhood Education and/or relevant qualifications will have an added advantage. At least 1-2 years of relevant professional teaching experience, preferably in a childcare/kindergarten environment. Freshgraguates are encourage to apply.
